Holme Valley Slow Melody Open For Entries

The Seventh Annual Holme Valley Slow Melody, Air Varie & Ensemble Competition will take place on Saturday 17th June 2017, again being held at Hade Edge’s impressive Band Room.

Organising the event once again is Graham Bates, who told A4B: “We were delighted to see a record entry last year, with representatives from 17 different bands, as the competition starts to become a regular date in the banding calendar.  We were treated to some exceptional playing, with a great variety of music choices.

We hope to see lots of friends, old and new this year and will once again be providing excellent catering in a flexible, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

This year we are delighted to have secured the services of Alan Morrison to adjudicate the day’s proceedings which will include various slow melody sections plus an ensemble and an Air-Varie section with  special awards for the best  18yrs and under ensemble and Air-Varie.  Awards will also be presented to various best instrumentalists and for the most musical performance of the day.

A piano will be available should any competitor wish to bring along an accompanist.

Further information can be obtained from Graham on 07999 751988, [email protected] or the facebook page set up for the event.
