Blackburn & Darwen Prepare for Swiss Departure

Blackburn & Darwen Band, under the direction of their MD, Neil Samuel are about to undertake a 6 day trip to Switzerland on the 29th of July.

The first day of the excursion will see the band join with the ‘Echo Des Bois’ concert band in Crans-Montana for a concert in the evening. In the days after, they will be playing in Zermatt, Sion and La Sage before performing a day time concert in Crans-Montana to help celebrate the Swiss National Day. As the day draws to a close, the band will take part in a grand parade featuring fireworks.

Commenting on the forthcoming trip, band chairperson Rhiannon Grant told A4B:
“We are indebted to our 2nd cornet player Anne-Michele Savoy and her Father Jean-Claude Savoy for the opportunity to perform in their home town during such a special week of celebrations and for of course making it possible through their hard work.”
