Full Steam Ahead for Holme Valley Slow Melody Contest
It’s all systems go for the 8th Annual Slow Melody & Ensemble Competition on Saturday 16th at Hade Edge Bandroom.
Organiser, Graham Bates, told A4B: ‘Thanks to a late surge of entries (helped by our friends in the media) there are more entries than last year, although still a little thin in the younger sections. we feel these events are an important aspect of developing individuals into confident and competent players and are delighted that the event will carry on. We will be chatting to people about possibly moving the 2019 event into the autumn to avoid exams and the summer concert schedule – but you’re always going to clash with something. I’m just concerned about the lack of young players wishing to take part and benefit, and will be asking if this may be a step to increase participation”.
Entries are still welcome up to Thursday (14th) – contact Graham on 07999 751 988 or mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org always a warm, friendly and encouraging environment awaits.
