Brighouse & Rastrick Announce New Principal Euphonium

National Champions, Brighouse & Rastrick, has announced the appointment of Chris Robertson to the Principal Euphonium chair with immediate effect.

Chris hails from Carnoustie, Scotland and moved to the North of England in 2013. He graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with first class honours and subsequently completed his postgraduate performance diploma in 2018.

No stranger to the Principal chair, Chris has previously held this position with a number of top class bands including Kirkintilloch, Wingates and Grimethorpe. A founding member of the award winning A4 Brass Quartet, Chris is also a brass arranger and an accomplished singer.

Brighouse and Rastrick Chairman, Ste Cavanagh, told A4B: “We are delighted to welcome Chris Robertson to the principal euphonium position with the National Champions. Chris is an exceptional brass player and his musicianship will be a valued addition to our team”.

Chris told A4B: “The opportunity to be part of the Brighouse & Rastrick experience and to continue growing musically is a wonderful opportunity. I am honoured to be invited to become a team member of England’s No.1 Brass Band and am extremely grateful for this step in my musical career”.
