Nottingham University Band Set For Mythical Battle

The University of Nottingham Brass Band has announced further innovation ahead of the 2017 UniBrass Championships in February.

The band are aiming to build on the impressive performance at the 2016 event, which featured narration provided by former Chancellor of the Exchequer Kenneth Clarke and saw the band take Third Prize in stylish fashion.

The band are excited to be collaborating on the 2017 performance with Harry Pavlou, a second-year medical student at the University’s prestigious Medical School and actor with the University’s student-led Nottingham New Theatre, the only completely student-led theatre in England.

Harry will join the band in taking the audience on a thrilling journey, telling the story of one of the most infamous battles of the mythical world, between the Gods and Titans.

The band are keeping full details of their performance under-wraps until the day itself, but Harry was thrilled to be taking part, telling A4B: “We’re all really proud of our brass band here at Nottingham, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of this fantastic event without having to even learn to play a brass instrument, I jumped at it. I can’t wait!”
