Tonight Sees Carlton Main Frickley’s Antique Appearance

Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band will be leading your tea time entertainment on Wednesday 18th October at 16:30 as part of BBC Ones, Antiques Road Trip.

The band were delighted to be approached by the show’s producers in March and were joined by one of the shows presenters Roo Irvine to film in April. Roo joins up with band members Sam Fisher, Anna Spedding, Phil Spencer, Toni Durrant, Emma Davis, Tim O’Conner and Band Chairman Ray Sykes to look at the story of colliery bands and joins Toni for an audition on Euphonium!

All4Brass spoke to Band Chairman, Ray Sykes who said: ‘It was great fun for us to be part of the show and a real honour that Carlton Main were chosen to reflect on our history and where we came from. It’s fantastic that the Antiques Road Trip wanted to reflect on the history of colliery bands and the importance that we are still here today.’

If you can’t tune in today at 16:30 on BBC One the episode featuring Carlton Main will also be available online on BBC iPlayer.
