Lewis Wilkinson Takes up Residency at Fishburn

Fishburn Band have announced that Lewis Wilkinson will take on the role of Resident Conductor.

This comes after Lewis conducted Fishburn to victory at the Easingwold March and Hymn Tune Contest for the second consecutive year, and led the band on their latest CD recording which will be released next month.

Band manager, Paul Brickle told A4B: ‘Lewis has been involved with the band for some time now, predominantly as our Bass trombone player, and most recently in a conducting capacity. Lewis has been working with numerous other bands in the area honing his conducting skills and the Fishburn band has been most impressed with how Lewis has developed. He will now be working and preparing the band in conjunction with their professional conductor David Hirst.’

Lewis Wilkinson told A4B: ‘I am really looking forward to working with such a great ensemble, I’m hoping that our recent sell-out concerts and win at Easingwold will be a sign of the successful partnership to come.’
