New Arrivals at Crofton Silver

Crofton Silver Band are pleased to announce the latest additions to the team as the band continues to build from strength to strength and prepares for its debut into the Championship section come January.

Jools Ritchie and Chris McDonald have joined the band on Cornet and Horn respectively.

Jools brings a wealth of experience playing in the top sections, most recently with Thoresby Colliery. She began playing in her family band, Foss Dyke, on flugel alongside her dad who conducted the band and her brother on principal cornet.

She recently had a short spell back on flugelhorn before joining Crofton Silver where she joins our experienced front row cornet team. She is very much looking forward to playing in the Championship section in Yorkshire for the first time.

Chris was one of the founding members of the Jayess (Queensbury) Band and had the good fortune of having James Shepherd as his mentor and tutor.

After a 25 year break to raise a family and focus on his career, Chris has recently returned fully to banding and is excited to commit his banding future to Crofton Silver Band.

Finally we welcome Joe Loukes on percussion who brings a wealth of experience after 7 years with Rothwell Temperance Band.

Joe began playing on cornet with Cawthorne Brass Band before joining Dodworth Colliery Band with many members of his family including his parents and sister where he moved to the percussion section.

Joe played for Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band shortly after their promotion to the Championship section before transferring to Rothwell. With a win at the Grand Shield and experience of the British Open and National Finals at the Albert Hall, Joe is a great asset to the percussion team.
