YORKSHIRE BRASS BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

TOWN HALL, HUDDERSFIELD

 

SATURDAY/SUNDAY, 7th/8thMARCH 2020

 

53 Brass bands will converge on the Town Hall, Huddersfield to compete in five sections for the honour of being crowned the Yorkshire Champion Brass Band.

 

The current Yorkshire Champion is Brighouse & Rastrick and they will be defending their title in the Championship Section on the Sunday afternoon against 15 of the country’s best brass bands including Black Dyke, Grimethorpe Colliery, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery, Rothwell Temperance  etc.

 

Visitors from throughout Great Britain, Ireland and Europe will converge on Huddersfield to listen to our Yorkshire bands.

 

The contest is closely fought. The playing is passionate and can be breathtaking and all for the glory of being Yorkshire Champion. 4 bands from the Championship Section will represent Yorkshire in the Championship Section Finals of the National Championships to be held in the Royal Albert Hall, London in October.

 

The winner and runner-up from the lower sections will have the honour of representing Yorkshire in the Lower Section Finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain to be held on the 26thand 27thof September at the Centaur Centre, Cheltenham Race Course.

 

Contest commences 9.15 a.m on Saturday 7th March and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday 8th March.

Championship Section commences 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, 8th March.
