Double Signing For Enderby Band

Leicestershire-based Enderby Band are delighted to announce two new signings just in time for the summer concert period, giving them plenty of time to settle in before the band takes part in the National Finals at Cheltenham in September.

Colin Allen has joined the band on Bb Bass whilst Sarah Moore signs on Flugel. Colin’s musical background began as a Flautist at school, moving on to Trumpet many years later. Colin also played in a semi pro soul band in the 1990s. Colin’s experience in brass bands started with Amington Band before moving to the West Midlands Police Brass Band where he played Cornet and then Flugelhorn before joining Melbourne Town Band on Cornet and then moving on to Euphonium.  He went to on play at Enderby Concert and Hathern Bands on Baritone and then found his true calling on Bb Bass.  Romance was written in the music at Melbourne where Colin met and married his wife, Andrea. Their eldest son Christopher is already following in his dad’s footsteps and currently plays Bb Bass for Enderby Junior Band.

Sarah started playing Cornet with Beaumaris Band in Anglesey in 1985 and progressed with the Band to Championship level and on to Flugel. She played with them for approximately 20 years before moving to Barrow Upon Soar and played with Hathern Concert Brass on Principal Cornet until 2015.  She then moved to 1st section Leicestershire Co-op (Snibston) Band on 2nd Cornet before moving on to Flugel.

A band spokesperson told A4B: “Colin and Sarah are great additions to the Enderby line up and have already established themselves into their respective sections in the Band.  It is also good to see family members getting involved in the organisation, as at the end of the day, our Youth Band is our future.”
