Fancy a Job At Brass Bands England?

Brass Bands England (BBE) has announced that it is recruiting two new staff members, with the successful applicants due to take up their posts early in 2019. Based in its National Office in Barnsley, the part-time positions of Education and Development Co-ordinator and Membership Support Officer will each provide three days of employment per week as part of BBE’s growing operation.

BBE’s Chief Executive Office, Kenny Crookston, told A4B: “These roles have been created due to the impending departure of Sophie Anderson, our current Education and Development Manager, who will be finishing with BBE in December to take up a position with a global library co-operative.  Sophie has been outstanding in her role in the time she has spent with us and we wish her every success in her new position. Having re-evaluated the workload in our small but growing team, we have come to the conclusion that the overall organisation would be best served by two part-time roles, with the Membership Support Officer providing administrative and logistical support to the development team.

We look forward to receiving applications for these key positions, which we should receive by 14 December. We expect to be in a position to carry out interviews in Barnsley on 20 December and we would like to have our new team members in position as early in 2019 as possible.”

Education and Development Co-ordinator £28,000 per annum (pro-rata) 21 hours per week

Based in BBE’s National Office in Barnsley, this is a national role with clear objectives to help BBE deliver its plans to promote and develop brass band activity within England. The successful applicant will be required to work directly with the brass band and associated communities to help formulate and deliver on national initiatives through partnership and network development. Increasing the effectiveness and influence of Brass Bands England within communities associated within the artistic, creative, educational and commercial sectors, and playing a key role in delivering on the targets set by Arts Council England, will form the core operational objectives for this role.

Membership support officer £22,000 per annum (pro-rata) 21 hours per week

Based in BBE’s National Office in Barnsley, the successful applicant will support the work of development staff in delivering on the targets set by Arts Council England, along with clear objectives to help BBE deliver its plans to promote and develop brass band activity within England. This is predominantly an administrative role supporting the operational team, but the post holder will also be required to display excellent levels of customer service and a strong level of flexibility to support the wider team’s activities.

Please apply by email, enclosing CV and a letter of application, to BBE Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Crookston at [email protected]

Applications should be received by 12.00 noon on Friday 14 December. Provisional interview date 20 December. Full details can be found at https://www.bbe.org.uk/news/15112018-1608/career-opportunities-bbe
