Brass Bands England Webinar: Why we should embrace small group playing

Next up in the fortnightly Brass Bands England webinar series is an invaluable session led by RNCM Senior Tutor in Brass Bands, David Thornton.

With ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in place, David Thornton asks whether small group rehearsals are a limitation or an opportunity. As well as hearing David speak live in the webinar and answer attendees’ questions, the session will also include pre-recorded footage of a workshop with a quartet of RNCM students so you can see him leading players in action. This workshop is relevant for conductors and players alike (and not just for soloists!) to make the most out of rehearsals with fewer players than usual.

This webinar will be delivered online on Thursday 15 October at 7:00pm using the Zoom webinar platform so attendees can interact and ask questions throughout the session. This session is free for BBE members, and £5 for non-members. More information on Band or Individual Membership can be found on the BBE website – https://www.bbe.org.uk/join-us. To register for this webinar go to https://www.bbe.org.uk/civicrm/event/info?id=102&reset=1

As usual, after the session we invite attendees to join the ‘BBE Pub’ to discuss the session and anything ongoing in the banding world. Come and join in the conversation, meet the BBE team and have a drink (or a cuppa!).

Any questions about upcoming events can be directed to Brass Bands England’s Education and Development Coordinator Sarah Baumann on [email protected].
